Without making this sound like a dating profile, I am someone that is down- to-earth, non-judgmental, and empathetic. I have been described by past clients and coworkers as:
- Sincere
- Intentional
- Respectful
- A great listener
- Compassionate
- A calming presence
- Insightful
- Easy to talk to
- Collaborative
- Patient
Professionally
Professionally, I have worked in settings addressing grief, bereavement, and caregiving, palliative care, dementia care, aging and health changes, severe anxiety and depression, academic/learning challenges, traumatic childhood encounters/relationships, poor self-esteem and self-doubt, and behavioural challenges in youth/teens. I am thankful for each space I have had the opportunity to learn in and what the clients there have taught me.
I received my BA in Clinical Psychology from Redeemer University. From Wilfred Laurier University (Martin Luther University College), I have an MA in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy and an MDiv.
Know that I am always adding to my learning to serve my clients well and have the following certificates: Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy from the 3C Insitute for Social Development, Sex After Trauma, Embodied Skills for Virtual Practice, and Mental Health First Aid.
More personally
I love nature. I am often admiring water and forests when I don’t have time to spend actually in them. I am a Christian and passionate about my faith, though know I will only discuss Christian matters if you invite it into the session. I have two wedding anniversaries, as I got married to my husband in Canada and in India so we could celebrate with both of our families. And lastly, I do prefer cats over dogs, though I do love both.
